3 Training Red Flags For Entrepreneur

Self-care is the foundation of everything you want to achieve.

Just like Matt Fiddes (worth over 100mil) mentioned in his recent podcast episode, you need three plans to build a successful business: a health plan, a business plan, and a financial plan.

The health plan comes first. It's the building block. Your training, nutrition, and sleep, as a part of your daily routine.

'There is no point to be rich if you can't be healthy and you can't enjoy it. And to become rich, you'll be under a lot of stress, so you need to be able to handle the stress'

Many clients come to me and tell me they've been on and off training for many years. They value their health and fitness but get frustrated because they simply can't stay consistent. Even if they do something for a while, they don't see the results they expect, which becomes demotivating.

If you can relate to that, then today's article is going to make a difference.

👉🏻Make sure you read to the end, as I have a gift for you at the bottom of the page ⤵️

🚩Red Flag #1 - focusing on doing cardio

I love running, cycling and any cardio really. I do it 2-3x a week every week. But my main focus, training-wise, has been strength or callisthenics for over ten years.

I enjoy cardio. It makes me feel good mentally and physically and gets me sweaty. But I know many people do it only to burn calories and lose fat.

But here are some numbers for you. If you're lucky, you burn 300-400kCal per run. Say you run 3x a week. That's 1200kCal burned in one week. You need a deficit of 8000kCal to lose 1 kg of fat. Six weeks of running and MAYBE you'd lose 1kg.

But then, if you have an extra pizza or ice cream on those days, that's 1000kCal back. So you're back at square one. You run more and burn more, but you eat it back. And this goes for any cardio out there. "You can't out-train a bad diet", which many cardio people still try to question.

Run because it's great for your heart and lungs. But it's now what gives you the athletic body you're proud of, the strength, confidence, and energy.

🚩Red Flag #2 - doing only HIIT gym classes or HIIT workouts

Very similar to cardio, but with more impact on your joints and a higher risk of getting injured. Suppose you're unfit and decide to follow a HIIT workout on YouTube or join a gym class. In that case, you're basically putting your body through high-impact, challenging movements at speed without having the stability, technique and strength in joints and muscles to cope with that, which is the perfect recipe for an injury.

HIIT is great—it allows you to get a lot of work done in a short period of time and has massive benefits. But it's not the main thing. It complements the main thing.

At least 50% of your training time should be focused on building strength. Strong muscles mean solid joints and bones. The stronger you can get in the process of transforming your body, the better the results and the easier it'll be to maintain them.

Getting strong while building your body is like reaching your financial targets while also building a team, skills and systems to sustain and progress further. That's what muscle and strength do for you.

🚩Red Flag #3 - training without plan

'If you leave your time to randomness, you're stealing from your greatness'

Just like you need a business plan, systems, and strategy to build a successful business, building a body you're proud of is no different. It's crucial to have clarity and certainty that what you're doing is the right thing to get from A to B.

Following a plan is also much less time-consuming. A good plan works around your weaknesses, time availability, fitness experience and goals. Having a plan means efficiency and getting all the benefits from every workout.

For example, if you're sedentary, you'd want to do more pull movements than push movements.

Why? Because the muscles in the front (front shoulders and chest) are already tight from sitting, dragging you forward, ruining your posture, and causing back pain. The muscles in the back are weak and need your help. If you keep training randomly and focus on push-ups, you'd just further support this imbalance, resulting in worse posture and more pain.

You are busy but you still find time to train. I'm sure you'd want to get the most out of it... Am I right?

I hope you now understand why I wrote this article: to help you and save you a lot of time, money, frustration, and pain.

Being an entrepreneur is incredibly demanding physically, mentally, and emotionally. Just like athletes train to win competitions and succeed, you need to train to perform in business and in life. Your body is your most important asset. You'll live in it every day for the rest of your life, and you'll need it to achieve all your personal and professional goals. Unlike your house or a car, you can't replace it, sell it and buy a new one. So stop treating it as if you could before it's too late. Do this properly, and it'll pay off for the rest of your life.
